Curfew was re-imposed in Srinagar and most other towns of Kashmir Valley after four people were killed in firing on Friday. Situation is extremely tense in the area. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will chair a high-level meeting on Saturday to take stock of the situation. Omar had cancelled the meeting scheduled to be held on Friday in protest against the latest civilian deaths.
According to reports, there was fresh violence today. One person was injured in firing in Singhpora Pattan area of Baramulla district.
At least 55 people have been killed in the recent wave of clashes between protesters and security forces in the last 2 months.
"The government is talking about confidence building measures, we have made four proposals and unless these are addressed, our protests will continue," said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
