There was more success for Priyanka in 2006 as she teamed up with Bollywood hottie Hrithik Roshan for the supernatural thriller Krrissh which was a superhit film.
Priyanka joined hands with superstar SRK for a remake of Don, directed by Farhan Akhtar. Despite doubts by purists, the film was termed super slick and Priyanka sizzled with SRK.

In 2007, Priyanka acted in the ensemble film Salaam-e-Ishq in which she was paired up with Salman Khan once again.

The actress teamed up again with Akshay Kumar and this time in a negative role in Aetraaz, for which she also bagged a Filmfare Best Villain Award.
In 2005, there was more of Akki-Priyanka in Waqt: A Race Against Time. It is said that by this time their reel life chemistry was a little too good for Akki's wife Twinkle who was reportedly uncomfortable with them working together.


Also in 2005, Priyanka teamed up with Abhishek Bachchan for Bluffmaster which was a big hit. In spite of excellent singing talents, she chose not to sing the promotional track Right her right now for which Abhishek rapped!

The following year, in 2003, Priyanka made her Bollywood debut opposite Sunny Deol in The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. She was, however, only a second lead as the leading lady of that film was Preity Zinta.

In 2003, Priyanka teamed up with Akshay Kumar for the first of many times to come for the film Andaaz. Apart from her and Akki, the film also starred Lara Dutta. Priyanka was the runnerup at the 2000 Miss India pageant that Lara won, and their rivalry continues till today.


In 2004, Priyanka teamed up with Akshay and Salman for the comedy flick Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

Priyanka aimed to become a software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist but was bulldozed by her friends to take part in the Miss Bareilly contest, which she won easily. Prior to winning the Miss World pageant, she did fashion shows, modelling and even a music video.
Priyanka came second at the Femina Miss India 2000 competition and was crowned Femina Miss India World and was subsequently sent to the Miss World pageant where she was crowned Miss World 2000. When Priyanka won the Miss World crown, she became the fifth Indian woman to win the title, and the fourth Indian woman to win in a span of seven years.

Priyanka had an alleged affair with her Andaaz co-star Akshay Kumar.

Priyanka studied at La Martiniere Girls' School in Lucknow.

After re-locating to the US, she studied in Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts and then in John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She returned to India and did her high school at Army School in Bareilly. She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai.

Here's a look at National Award winner Priyanka Chopra's journey so far...

Priyanka, born on 18 July 1982, is also former Miss World. Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model and gained fame after winning the Miss World title in 2000.
Priyanka was born in Jamshedpur to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri, both physicians by profession. She spent her childhood in Bareilly, UP then Newton, Massachusetts; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her father was in the Army and thus her family moved quite frequently. Her father hailed from a family of Punjabi origin, settled in Bareilly and her mother comes from a family settled in Jamshedpur. She also has a younger brother, Siddharth.
